Welcome to Casa Pedro Barrera, a beautifully restored 300-year-old farmhouse, once owned by the renowned Spanish Torero; Pedro Barrera Elbal. A brave and celebrated Matador of the 1930s and ’40s. He retired early from the bullfighting arena, to enjoy the peace and beauty of rural life. Our Cortijo is an elegant, small-scale retreat, which offers six stylishly renovated rooms, combining modern comfort with historic charm.
Sustainability is at our core, with solar panels and boilers providing clean energy. Guests relax by the pool and in the garden, enjoying nature responsibly.
With space for just 10 to a maximum of 16 guests, we offer privacy, personal attention, and a unique atmosphere that brings many visitors back again.

As the new proud owners of Casa Pedro Barrera, Arjan and Lonneke (known locally as Cris and Antonia) love sharing this special place with family, friends, and guests.
Arjan brings his expertise in sustainability and renewable energy from the Netherlands, making eco-friendly living a core value of the Cortijo. Lonneke, a passionate goldsmith with her own studio; lonnekekeuten.nl brings warmth and creativity, making guests feel truly at home.
Now living part-time in Spain, they’ve built strong local ties, and lasting friendships. At Casa Pedro Barrera, they continue to create new stories and love sharing them with you; through every stay, friendly conversation, and shared moment of connection.
